Depart from Mumbai by air on May 9 at 11:35 PM for your exciting Japan adventure. Arrive at Narita International Airport at 6:00 PM local time (next day). Tokyo Metropolitan Sightseeing - Skytree, Senso-ji Temple & Sunset Cruise
After breakfast, begin your Tokyo exploration at the iconic Tokyo Skytree, Japan’s tallest broadcasting and observation tower standing 634 meters high (350m observation deck). From the Tembo Deck, enjoy breathtaking 360-degree panoramic views spanning the entire metropolis, and on clear days, catch glimpses of distant Mount Fuji.
After lunch, visit the historic Asakusa Senso-ji Temple, Tokyo’s oldest and most colorful Buddhist temple founded in 628 AD. Walk through the famous Kaminarimon Gate with its massive red lantern and explore Nakamise Shopping Street, a 250-meter traditional shopping arcade lined with over 90 stalls selling traditional snacks, crafts, and souvenirs.

This CNN-recognized dream destination features the legendary 160-year-old Great Wisteria tree with its massive 1,000-square-meter purple canopy, the enchanting 80-meter white wisteria tunnel, and rare golden kibana-fuji (yellow wisteria). Tokyo – Hakone (Owakudani & Lake Ashi) – Numazu
After breakfast, enjoy a city orientation tour covering Tokyo’s iconic modern landmarks: Shibuya Crossing (world’s busiest pedestrian intersection), the National Diet Building (Parliament), the upscale Ginza shopping district, and the Imperial Palace (exterior views with beautiful East Gardens).
Proceed to Gotemba area (approximately 100 km). After lunch, continue to Togendai and take the exciting Hakone Ropeway cable car ascending Mount Hakone to Owakudani Boiling Valley (“Great Boiling Valley”), an active volcanic zone featuring sulfurous steam vents and bubbling hot springs. Witness the otherworldly volcanic landscape and taste the famous kuro-tamago (black eggs) boiled in sulfuric springs. Mount Fuji 5th Station & Chureito Pagoda – Matsumoto
After breakfast, ascend to Mount Fuji’s 5th Station at 2,305 meters elevation (weather permitting), the highest point accessible by road on Japan’s tallest and most sacred mountain (3,776m). This UNESCO World Heritage Site offers panoramic views of the Fuji Five Lakes region, surrounding forests, and on clear days, distant mountain ranges. Visit the mountain shrine and browse souvenir shops while breathing crisp alpine air.
Continue your journey to Matsumoto. En route, visit the iconic Chureito Pagoda, a five-story peace memorial pagoda offering one of Japan’s most photographed views—the vermillion pagoda framing Mount Fuji in the background. Stop at Lake Yamanaka, the third-highest lake in Japan (980m elevation) and largest of the Fuji Five Lakes, providing stunning reflections of Mount Fuji on calm days.

Matsumoto – Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route – Toyama
After breakfast, embark on the breathtaking Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route journey through the Northern Japan Alps with packed lunch. This legendary “Roof of Japan” mountain traverse spans 90 kilometers using seven different transportation modes including cable cars, highland buses, tunnel trolleybuses, ropeways, and electric buses.
Experience the world-famous Yuki-no-Otani Snow Corridor at Murodo (2,450m elevation) with towering snow walls reaching up to 20 meters high (April-June season). Visit Kurobe Dam, Japan’s tallest dam at 186 meters, and enjoy spectacular alpine panoramas from multiple viewpoints along this engineering marvel completed in 1971.

Toyama – Shirakawa-go – Takayama – Maglev Museum – Hiroshima (Bullet Train)
After breakfast, visit Shirakawa-go, a UNESCO World Heritage village famous for its unique gassho-zukuri (prayer-hands style) farmhouses with steep thatched roofs. This 250-year-old architectural masterpiece is located at the foot of Mount Hakusan, one of Japan’s three sacred mountains. These traditional farmhouses create a fairy-tale landscape where time seems to stand still.
Proceed to Hida-Takayama, a beautifully preserved heritage town with Edo-period streets, traditional merchant houses, sake breweries, and morning markets. Experience authentic old Japan in this charming mountain town.
After lunch, visit the fascinating SCMaglev and Railway Park Museum in Nagoya, showcasing Japan’s railway technology evolution including historic steam locomotives, world-record-setting experimental Shinkansen (bullet trains), and the latest magnetic levitating trains (Maglev) reaching speeds over 600 km/h.

After breakfast, journey to Kyoto, Japan’s ancient imperial capital and cultural heart. Begin at the enchanting Arashiyama Bamboo Grove, where thousands of towering bamboo stalks create a serene, otherworldly pathway with filtered green light and rustling natural music. Walk across the historic Togetsu Bridge (Moon Crossing Bridge) spanning the Hozu River, showcasing brilliant shades of green and gold—one of Kyoto’s most photographed and iconic locations.
