Tea gardens that fold into the hills like green velvet. A houseboat drifting through still backwater canals at sunset. A spice plantation trail that fills the air with cardamom before you even see the trees. And a Kovalam beach where the Arabian Sea finally slows down enough to just sit and watch it. Six nights, four landscapes, one state that somehow manages to feel like several different countries stitched together.

This is Kerala’s complete circuit, the one that doesn’t rush past any single region just to tick a box. Munnar gets its full two days. The backwaters get an actual overnight houseboat, not a two-hour cruise. Thekkady’s forests and Kovalam’s coastline both get proper time.

Samisha Holidays runs this Kerala tour package 6N/7D from Pune as a fully arranged journey — private transport, handpicked stays, and a route sequenced so each leg builds naturally into the next.

Tour Highlights
Itinerary (Day Wise)

Land in Kochi and ease into Kerala's rhythm right away. Fort Kochi's old town blends Portuguese, Dutch, and British-era architecture along quiet lanes, with the famous Chinese fishing nets framed against the harbor as the sun goes down. A short evening walk through the spice market, a Kathakali performance if timing allows, and you're settled in for the night.

The drive to Munnar climbs steadily through Western Ghats forest, waterfalls appearing at random turns and the air cooling noticeably as altitude increases. Arrive by afternoon, check into your hill-station stay, and take an easy walk through the property's surroundings before dinner. Tomorrow is built entirely around this hill station, so tonight is for resting up.

A full day among Munnar's tea gardens, rows clipped into perfect waves across every visible hillside. Visit a working tea museum to see how raw leaves turn into the cup you'll drink tomorrow morning, then continue to Eravikulam National Park, home to the rare Nilgiri Tahr grazing along open grassland. Mattupetty Dam and the Echo Point viewing area round out the day, both offering wide hill panoramas that are hard to stop photographing.

Descend from the hills toward Thekkady, gateway to Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary. En route, a spice plantation tour walks you through cardamom, pepper, and cinnamon growing in their natural setting, with fresh samples along the way. In the evening, a Kalaripayattu martial arts show or traditional Kathakali performance offers a glimpse into Kerala's older cultural traditions.

A boat ride or short trek inside Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary in the morning brings a chance at spotting elephants, sambar deer, or exotic birdlife along the lake's edge. By afternoon, transfer to Alleppey and board your private deluxe houseboat, the engine cutting out once you're properly into the backwaters. Paddy fields sit below canal level, village life drifts by on both banks, and a fresh Kerala meal gets cooked onboard as the boat eases through narrower Kumarakom channels. Anchor for the night under a sky that's far clearer than anything back in the city.

Disembark after a slow houseboat breakfast and drive south toward Kovalam, Kerala's most iconic beach destination. Lighthouse Beach's crescent shoreline, backed by a working lighthouse you can climb for sweeping coastal views, makes for an easy, sun-soaked afternoon. Evening is yours to relax along the promenade or simply sit and watch the Arabian Sea do its thing.

A relaxed final morning by the coast before the drive back to Kochi for your onward flight. Seven days, four regions, and a clear sense of why Kerala earns the "God's Own Country" reputation every single time.
